In-Mold
Decorating is the process of inserting a graphic overlay within
an injection mold, creating
an end product that can be colorful, unique, life lasting, and
cost effective.
IMD
is accomplished by the insertion of a decorated (screen printed)
LEXAN film into the cavity of the molding
tool and injecting plastic behind it.
Design
Flexibility can be achieved by using the same injection
molding tool
for quick changeovers of graphics. Complex 3D images can be
decorated.
Cost
effective productivity is another bonus of IMD. Parts can
be decorated and then molded in one operation.
Processing
and labor costs are reduced. Adhesives can be eliminated and
the in-molded film remains in place for the life of the product. |
